Welcome to Washington DC . . .

We arrived at Cherry Hill RV Park in College Park, MD on 5/11/2021, setup the campsite and planned the rest of our week. Our daughter Rebecca was able to get off work on Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday, Walt took Rebecca to see if they could find her a bike so she could ride with us. After more than 6 hours, they came back empty handed. There wasn’t a road bike to be found due to the COVID-19 restrictions, unless she wanted to wait at least 2 months, maybe longer.

On Thursday, we took an Old Town Trolley Tour of DC. It was a lot of fun. We saw several things we had not seen before, the MLK Memorial, the Korean War Veterans Memorial, the US Navy Memorial and the Ulysses S. Grant Memorial. Friday, I spent the day finding an AT&T store to change out the screen on Walt’s phone. It seems like I am in charge of all the electronics and Walt handles all the mechanical stuff.

Sunday, the three of us toured Arlington Cemetery. It was wonderful to learn about all of the different individuals that were buried there, Supreme Court Justices, several Presidents, Foreign Nationals, Politicians, Spanish-American War Nurses, several Actors and Actresses and prominent women. We also saw the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. They told us that there were between 25 to 30 burials every day (we saw one while we were there) and over 400,000 individuals buried there. Take a look at the photos in the Gallery.
